the thing is that the original battery is lost.

 

What are the dimensions, including distance from battery edge to connector edge, and connector width?

I think one of the Acer supplies is close to what the picture shows, but the connectors may be more to one side than in the middle. They are far from universal, sadly.

If you could find the original housing, the batteries are usually the 18650's you can order from many places.

 

The Originals BM Circuitry was fried. I checked. Before

This thing has been here for quite while. I think I threw away the housing after taking the cells........
That is why it is deemed Lost

 

Does the power adapter still work? It would make a decent "small footprint desktop system" if the system works fine without the battery while connected to mains power.

With the price of complete battery modules, it might be cheaper to find another system of the same model and make one working notebook w/battery from between the two.
