Nameplate Current Rating

What is the difference between nameplate current rating and FLA (Full Load Amps)? Are these two terms synonymous? The reason I am asking is because they are used separately in the NEC.

yes, and no. Nameplate is the value that trumps all others. FLA can be derived from several sources, in priority sequence, as dictated by the code. The CEC specifies nameplate first, calculations second, code chart lastly.
