A velleman LC meter I bought from BG Micro. It does large inductances very well, and goes down to 1µH LSD. I plan on using it for a transfer standard. I eventually want to build a simple inductance measuring circuit. I have several interesting schematics, but there are some details I want to work out for myself.

Considering of all the guesswork and squinting at capacitor markings that would be eliminted by that LC meter, I can see myself acquiring one of those before long. The price is reasonable too.

A decent DVM from Harbor Freight costs under $5. So why not? A DVM (which does not need to be expensive) is the first tool any hobbiest needs. I have several, and use them all.

Most quality DVMs also have a capacitance and freq counter function. You can even get one from Radio Shack.

Nice one.

Been looking for a meter to measure inductance. It would be nice if you keep us updated on how it's working, and the progress of you own inductance meter.

I've read about this, and start making a shoppinglist, but now I'll wait.:)
