Multiple Source Voltage Regulator

I was wondering if anyone has come across a multiple source voltage regulator. I'm looking at connecting two 9V solar cells to a 5V voltage regulator output. Paralleling solar cells is fine if both are always in the same path of the light source. If one of them becomes shaded or damaged while directly paralleled with another, the second cell may be damaged as well. I currently was looking at the L78M05CV or LF50CV positive voltage regulators.
