When you live in the US with individual states bigger than some European countries, we don't have sharp curves in the road.;) :)

Nah you know here in Europa we are not so into US cars. A lot of power, but they have never figured out how to get all that power around corners. :p

I love getting into this arguement here in the states. We have people here who are in love with imports; asian and european alike. They always try to play that card: "yeah your car is real fast in a straight line, but on a winding road, that sled won't have a chance." To that I say, "Ok, I'll race you to the first winding road you can find"

Funny, I was talking to very happy corvette owner at work and he made the other point, he gets 25 miles to the gallon. What do the EU equivalents get?

Hard to say. As this would be much as compering apples and bananas. An EU sports car with the same amount of BHP and same weight. Would for sure have a much smaller engine I would guess around 4 litre. And hence using less fuel. It would be a much more advanced car. But at the same time much more costly.

He is under the impression an equivalent car in the EU gets around 10-15MPH. You folks in the EU don't have mileage as part of the specifications for your cars?

Of course we have but it is liter pr metric mile (10 km) or litre pr 100 Km. But as I said we must compare on equal terms. And that would be BHP and weight. But then we are moving into a segments of cars I have no first hand knowledge about. So my statements will not be worth much. Besides from that I read in Road&track and Motor Trend. I do not have a performance car but I still like to read and see TV shows about them.
