Hello,
I have a 2200 watts, 240 volts DC brush motor. (yes, 240VDC, not 240VAC nor 24VDC).
I only have a 24VDC 125A power supply (6 units), not 240VDC.
I want to run this motor with my power supply.

Can the motor be converted from 240v to 24v by proper rewinding it, so to get 2200 watts performance with 24vdc?
:(

Yes, but it would cost more than buying the correct motor!
The copper content of the brushes would also have to be changed and possibly area.
Why not pick up one of the 240v KB/Baldor SCR drives off of ebay or from a local Baldor rep?
Or Pay a bit extra and get the PWM version.
Max.

The rewound motor... In the unlikely event you could find a shop that would do it for you, would draw a hellacious amount of current [ 91.6 amps, more or less ] for 2200 watts performance...
