start your PC
press Del or f2 to run the bios setup as your first screen appears on the monitor
check in the bios boot option
whether it supports or not
today's motherboard's (pc's) all supported by the usb boot option.

Checking out the mother boards specifications or manual on the manufactures website is also a good way.
Keep in mind that while most motherboards today will boot off pretty much any mass storage devices many of the early USB boot boards could be very picky about what they would and wouldn't boot off, so things like card readers often wont work.
