Next semester in college I am taking an Advanced Woodworking class. I am going to build a tool cabinet and I would like to add two sets of speakers, which is all I have. I will play music while I work

One set is Parallax 1220 and the other set is KLH 170 Loudspeaker.

What I am asking is which circuits do I need and what electronic components are needed as well. I want to go from my Ipod to 3.5mm jack to the (amplifying?) circuit to the four speakers.

There was a website I found a while ago that has several hundred schematics but the favorite was lost with the update of Mozilla. I believe the schematics I need are on that website, but I cannot remember the name.

Thanks in advance

If you want to build an amp for the fun of it, then someone here can help. But if you really just want an amp, you can buy a class D amp for a lot less than you can build it. Here's an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-X-80-Watt...023?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cd325baef

Same thing I did when I built an amp to drive speakers for my TV. The best way to do it is use audio amp IC's like:

Yes, I believe an amplifier is what I need.

What I am wanting is one that can have two left channels and two right channels. I looked for an AB 2 channel amplifier on ebay, but there were only ones from China.

What about the 3.5mm jack? Would I need to get a separate circuit to incorporate it?

If you build your own using IC power amps, you can add as many channels as you want.

Not sure what you mean. I think the output from the headphone jack of the IPOD can drive straight into the inputs of the IC amplifiers. You can adjust the volume on the IPOD. Just get a stereo cable with the kind of plug that goes into the IPOD on one end and whatever plug to match with the amp you are building.

I found a website that has all sorts of ICs. http://www.futurlec.com/IntegratedCircuits.shtml I am guessing something from the page "Special Function -- NXP/Phillips" section "TDA Series" http://www.futurlec.com/ICSFPhilips.shtml

I would like to build this on a breadboard, since I am not very good at soldering. I am not sure which IC, on the previously mentioned website, would be best for breadboards.

I think I need a DAC IC the Parallax speakers are from the year that "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" first appeared in a movie thought to be a failure. The KLH speakers are from the year that the aforementioned movie's sequel came out. :) My favorite set of movies. :)
