hi guys sorry again for the terrible newbie questions but here goes .......

in the voltage pic

is the voltage bigger on the plus side ? and why ?
why is it higher at plate A than plate B ?
what happens when the positive charge reaches the negative plate ? is it converted to negative charge ?
why isnt the positive charge at Plate C attracted to plate B ?
is the voltage at its highest in the middle of plate A?

 

in ground pic

why when there is no ground shown in the first two batteries is it zero volts and where a ground is shown it is minus 3 volts ?

 

Hi, I'll try to answer q's from post #2. Here they are trying to show that voltages are relevant to one-another. So, the 0V in the last picture is relavant to the +3V and -3V because the 0V is at a potential half-way. That is the same as defining the -3V connection from the last picture to 0V from the first picture. See? It's not important what the actual values are, as what the relative values are. In other words, it doesn't matter which node you define as ground. The rest of the nodes have to be relavant to the one you define as 0, or ground. Let me know if that doesn't make any sense.

Just remember that any node of a circuit can be considreed "ground" And all other node votages are defined as relative to that node.
