Hello Everyone! I found a discarded Acer AL1714 flat monitor by a curb and took it home because I want to replace my CRT. To power it, I borrowed my office monitor's AC-DC adapter which provides the Acer's power requirement (19Vdc @ 2.6A). I noticed about a dozen faint horizontal bars flickering up the screen. Could this be caused by a defective filter capacitor inside the monitor?
The adapter is above suspicion since I don't have this problem on my office monitor. I have an old Gateway 1300 PC purchased 9 years ago. Could there be a compatibility issue with my PC's video card?
