No i didnt place it across. Ive been doing some reading this evening and it looks like that should be the solution! Ill try it tomorrow and post back.

Always good practice to put diode across relay coil. I should have mentioned it before.

It will save your switch too.

 

It didnt work any better, had the same result. I dont know why those diagrams are posted if they dont work worth a darn.

If you are referring to the diag I posted in #6 I have used it before and it has worked for me??
