Here is the question. What is the formula?

An AM transmitter transmits 200 W when modulated at 40%. The power in the lower sideband is ________ W.
Your answer: 85.18
The correct answer: 7.41

Hi,

How did the correct answer get arrived at? Think of this - if the total power in both AM sidebands is X watts, then the power in either the upper or lower sideband is __ % of the total.

Pt=Pc(1+m^2/2) is the correct formula for this so u'll need to substitute in this and you get the answer,understood if this is wrong formula then let me know the correct one.
