I am trying to log variable valve timing signals on my oscilloscope with my car, and I'm wondering if anyone has done this and how they referenced the oscilloscope square wave signal to cam angle and timing.
As some background, the ecu pulses a square wave signal to a solenoid which then uses oil pressure to move the cam gear back and forth. The cam gear is inside of an aluminum valve cover so it is hard to see what it is doing while the car is running.
