I did a metal detector project few months back. Happy and not so happy with it. Very sensitive to stray capacitances.
I didn't realise that they could be bought so cheaply before I started it. That's how out of date I am! What a waste of time and money when I can buy one for 50 bucks with a digital screen that leaves anything that I do for dead.
