    hello forum,

    question regarding capacitance: imagine two solid metallic spheres (same material). The larger sphere has more "capacitance". What does it actually mean? It can contain more charge than the smaller one.....

    Is there a limit to how much charge a conductor can hold?
    Is the hold idea about capacitance C related to how the voltage V changes when given a certain amount of charge Q?

    Delta_V=(Delta_Q) / C

    Voltage is electric potential energy per unit charge. Why does it increase more for a smaller capacitance conductor than for a larger C one, if given the same amount of Q?
