I would like to try and charge a battery using this IC. Using the "Typical Application circuit" shown on page 17. The battery I Have is a 1900mAh so want to charge at a current of 190mA.

Reading the datasheet I can see how Rprog is calculated or the value for Cout

On page 7, figure 2-4 seems to show the current in constant current mode vs. Rprog. On page 15, section 5.12, it says 1000/Rprog.

Cout seems to be to filter supply ripple, and possibly improve transient response. See graph 2-11 on page 7. I'd leave it at 4.7 uF.
