My treadmill has MC 60 control board, I found that the resistor R42 is open. I am having difficulty reading the color coding of the resistor to determine the ohmic Ω value. Can any one tell me how many ohms is R42 or at least tell me what are the exact color of the first 3 bands. Thanks.Ω

There are many PCB versions of this generic control board. Each has the resistors numbered differently.

This one doesn't even have a resistor where R42 is labelled on the board.

My suggestion is to look at the other listings on eBay when you search m60 controller. Hopefully you can find a board with the same layout and read the stripes on R42. Click each image to see if a high res version is linked to it.

Good luck.

@GopherT, tnx for the suggestion. I should be able to find the enlarged photo of the resistor in ebay or elsewhere. All I need is the color codes.

Is R42 parallel with R40 and R40 is 36.5K?

Allen
I can try solder 36.5K resistor in the card to see if it will work. But the only thing worries me to do this is if value is too low than what it should be, the adverse effect on the entire PCB?

Thanks, I will try to insert that resistor value. Will you be able to identify the band colors though?
I think you mistaken my post. I have not gave you the value of R42 yet. I just asked you if it is parallel with resistor R40. If it is, then the value of R42 that I have is probably correct.

R40 = 36.5K (orange, blue, green, red )
R42 = 5.4K (green, yellow, black, brown)

Here's the schematics attached

What an odd schematic to use the odd size like 36.5k in parallel with another odd size 5.4k to yield the equivalent of a very standard 4.7k ohms.

If R40 & R42 are both Kilo ohms value, then the 3rd band which is the multiplier should be red? None of those valuse doesnt agree with the rule.

I am electronically novice. Even if 4th band is the multiplier, the posted colors does not come up with the numeric value of 36.5k nor the 3.6k for the other set of colors.

R40 = 36.5K (orange, blue, green, red )
R42 = 5.4K (green, yellow, black, brown)

Comes out as
Orange is 3
Blue is 6
Green is 5
Red gives two zeros
3 6 5 0 0 (36.5k)

Green is 5
Yellow is 4
Black is 0
Brown gives ONE more zero

5400

Im electronically novice. Even if the 4th band is the multiplier, still the posted colors does not enterprit the correct numeroc value of 36.5K nor the the other set of colors.
