Hi all,
I used max485 in rs232-rs485.I am testing max485, in the receiver side pin RE is connected to ground and R0 is connected to TTL inputs of max232.DI is not used and is not connected to anything.And this max485 is used to receive data, but it fail in receiving.Could you tell if I need to connected DI to TTL output of max232?I know max485 function but I do not know max485 operation in receiving mode is effect by DI or not.

 

It would assist us in helping you with your problem if you could post a schematic of the circuitry you are trying to debug.
