Hello.
I have two pictures that I want to compare:
1st image: a picture of sediment in the flume before water run
2nd image: a picture of sediment after water has run through it

What I would like Matlab to do is to tell me how many sediment grains have been entrained by comparing these to pictures.

If there is no chance in doing that can you please give me suggestions for the following:
I have converted 2 images to grayscale and subtracted second image from first one giving me a new picture.

<snip>

Any suggestions how do I read it to get the number of entrained grains?

:mad:What in the he** are you trying to do. By clicking on your image link. I found a picture of some windmills. And then I clicked on the picture I received a popup containing ads for a some sort of pornographic adult dating club. I have reported your posting to the moderator.

I found this forum through google. Here were quite a number of queries about matlab image processing not really connected to circuit stuff. Therefore I had a go.

I am not sure where you clicked, because what I see is a black and white picture of rocks, but let moderators sort out what is there.

I tested it on two computers. So it is as I told you. Could be something your picture hosting web site do. Post the picture here instead

This is is bit strange. The JPEG of the grains is there, but I did have that pic of the wind generators popup over it. I have edited the link out.

I might suggest that the OP post the imagery to this site.

Hey wait amin.. tht adult thing came to me too, a pop up, after a long time, I went haywire.
I checked and double checked my Virus and every thing and some sort of dll also tried to install.
I thought of reporting but wanted to make sure so, in the second attempt only a pebble jpeg , nothing else..
What the he** is happening.
His image hosting site is a phishing site I think.

I do not think you did it on on purpose now. Such hosting sites do nothing for free. They earn money on advertising. Perhaps you tagged your picture as adult by accident. Anyway your question is well inside the scope of this forum. But I am not very good with matlab. So I can not help

it could be malware.
try malwarebytes anti-malware. wouldn't know what to do without it. its amazing FREE program. :D

p.s. even if have norton, kapersky, etc.
it is still possible to get malware which can slow computer down, etc.

best anti virus program in my opinion is bit defender
