Of all the crap I have been through in the past few weeks concerning AC and DC circuits, I have found, in my own opinion, that the best way, at least on paper, to figure out a circuits design or just for basic troubleshooting is to use the basic laws of electric circuits. This doesn't apply to troubleshooting in the field, though it may be usefull for fundemental purposes, the mathematical approach works best for me. Just a comment and I haven't tried all the methods myself, it is food for thought, especially for the newbie!
