I know to have a robust amplifier I just have good gain and phase margin.

When it comes to unit gain filters do I have to worry at all about gain and phase margin? Considered I am using active parts to make these filters. I know my opamps have enough GBP, good on slew rate, etc.

An active filter usually drives a resistance so the phase margin is not affected.
Some opamps have a phase margin problem when they drive a capacitance, so a low value resistor (100 ohms) in series with the output of the circuit is used to avoid a phase caused oscillation.
