low fuel indicator

Hello all, im new to electronics, so dont know the full lingo, its just a hobby for me.

Ive seen a low fuel indicator i would like to make.

From whot i can gather it should tell me, my fuel is down to 5 litres.

The parts listed are?

Semiconductors;
LM311N comparator.
78L10 voltage regulator.
4.3v 500mW zener diode.
LED (any color)

Resistors;
22k 0.25w
4.7k 0.25w
1.8k 0.25w

Capacitors;
1000uF 10v
100uF 16v
47nF 63v

I be greatful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Im not to good on reading schemacics.

I try an post some links to were i seen it.

I going to the shops before they close @4pm getting myself a rotary set.

Can you point us at a link for the circuit? There really do not seem to be enough parts listed to make a fuel level sensor.
