i am in search of inexpensive small "dip" style rotary switches. SP6T would be ideal but a SP5T would work. right angle through hole mounting. no fancy shaft needed, needs to be turned using a small scewdriver, etc. low current low voltage (<100ma @ 14vdc).

any suggestions?

Hello,

How many contacts needs the switch?
How many positions needs the switch?
Can you place a schematic representation?

Greetings,

a rotary "dip" switch (not encoded). i think i said it wrong, i was thinking toggle switch. basically a single pole that switches over to 5 or 6 positions. the attached shows a single pole with 10 positions. i only need 5 or 6 positions. so for rotary i guess its a SPST with 5 or 6 positions.

those are too big and too expensive. i need 16 of them, and hopefully small on the "dip" scale, etc. almost like a small potentiometer, etc.

let me clarify. i need 16 per board, and i have lots of boards to make. @ $2-$4 each that takes my product up to $64 just for rotaryt switches! ouch. i need to sell in the 100-200 $ range.

i also need right angle switches, otherwise i'll need to make a pcb that gets soldered to the main board's edge..... my projects always run into snafu's.

rotary switch is ideal, but is there a IC with ROM that can do the same as a rotary switch and have persistence between power on/off ??

MPJA has a couple of right angle screwdriver adjust switches that could feed a decoder. 8781 SW is the stock number of the 0-7 switch ($0.89 each) and 8888 SW is the stock number of the 0-9 switch ($2.00 each)

price is good, but these are BCD and octal. so i need to feed BCD to a decoder, say a CD74HCT42 or CD4028B? hey, that may just be the ticket. the in-stock is 2 for the 89 cent switch.....

thanks.
