We have a fair number of folks on AAC in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area, so I'm trying an experiment and posting this months events.
Of special interest is the Dallas HamCom coming up. It used to be a lot bigger, but Arlington tried to milk it as a cash cow and it's been forced to move around, currently it has settled down in Plano around June 11 or so.
The 1st Sat Sidewalk sale also started as a Ham event in the 70's, transmuted into a really huge computer/ham event into the 90's, and has shrunk to a computer/electronics flea market. The 1st Sat event is much better than the 3rd Saturday version.
We also have several decent stores, Tanner's is my favorite, followed by a close second at BG Micro. I've mentioned BG before, while mostly an internet store (they share buying stock with Tanner's). If you go to BG Micro be prepared to meet a hyper super friendly Great Dane named Eli May. I always bring dog biscuits, and I am one of her best buds.
AllTex is an odd duck. Not a comprehensive electronics store, nor quite computers, but they have a decent amount of both and more. They tend to cater to businesses, with lots of rack mount accessories and more. If you need a resistor, cap, or coil they have a full line (along with some hard to get tools), but have very few semiconductors.
