I have an audio output that im trying to attach to an LM386 chip. The schematics are pretty easy to figure out in deciding which one i need. I used the one with minimum parts. Unfortunately the volume output has some noise in the background.

I tried making the connections better, and it helped(like the ground and what not) but i still get background noise.

Any suggestions guys?

P.S. the output was the audio from my laptop.

P.S.S. Here's the link to the data sheet.

Did you adequately bypass Vs (pin6) with ceramic caps?
Try putting a small inductor in series with the VS to clean it up.
The actual path of the ground return is also important.
