If you are looking at ADRES then you should use your register window and not watch.
Untrue.

The watch window allows you to select just the individual items (variables and registers) you are interested in, and just display these items in the order you choose.

The (special function) register window shows all registers with very limited sorting options.

For example, you cannot put the PORT value near the TRIS value for an I/O port next to each other in the register window; you need to scroll between them. You can put then next to each other in the watch window.

If watch is not working for the OP on a register then watch does little good doesn't it?

For me it is far easier to just look at the register window then setup a watch.,
