ok, so, the general idea was to make a linear position sensor, i originally made a hall position sensor, its good, but i'm wondering about more repeatability, and the ability to make longer sensors, where these hall sensors can do around 40mm at best.
I'v seen the inductive sensors, POSIC Sensors and i want to know how an.. i assume.. LC oscillator could be implemented like this? obviously it would use a comparator circuit to create a digital circuit but how does the oscillator work, and any ideas how to start designing a sensor like this?
