Line following circuit question.

Hey AAC Community,

Recently I bought a single motor basic tamiya car. After watching some line following robots, I was thinking if it is possible to have a single steering line following. What I mean is the car's rear wheels will be driven forward with out steering, like a tricycle, then the line following circuit will control the front single wheel .

I saw this example using transistors and other easy to find components.

I was wondering if it possible to place a servo or dc motor to steer the car in conjunction with line following circuit. If possible, can pls advice me how?

Thanks Thanks!! :]

I'm no expert, but I think you could use use the difference between the control signals of the two sides in the given circuit, and use that information to move a servo. This would give a degree of proportionality and solve the problem of having both motors "on" at the same time. That works for propulsion but not steering.
