heya guys i came up whit a cool idea for my vivarium,
what if i could simulate lightning storms in my rainforest,
i can easily do the lightning part but how do i play the sound and time it to the flash? thats a bit more tricky i gues, i plan on dimming the lighting befour the storm and making it rain befour during and after the storm,
so any bright ideas for somthing simple or is this going to be an arduino ? i love the arduino and i could make it all whit hardware but i cant grasp the c++ somehow, i just dont understand it like some of you do :p
if there is a chance to replace my siemens logo plc that curently controls my vivarium whit an arduino ile take it but ile need som help whit understanding c++,

    thx in advance guys :)

Sounds like a good learning opportunity. Embrace the C++.

I would have thought the Logo would have been up to it for control, you will need outboard electrics anyway you go, or may be less with the Logo?
It even has the 24hr clock, if yours has the feature?

most "reef" controllers already feature "cloud" and "storm" functions.
The reef angel controller is built on the arduino platform sort of.
Hardware is all done with that too.. of course what fun is that.

But yes an arduino is the perfect board to get started with.. add a relay board or whatever and go to town.
or course I'd think that the same/similar functionality could be done with the PLC too.
