Lightning Simulator modification

Greetings! I am in the process of making the Lightning Simulator shown on the hauntedillinois.com website. However, I would like to mod this so that the light does not light up, but instead dims during the audio output. My ultimate aim is to have an audio track that plays a buzzing sound (to simulate the lights kinda short circuiting) that would cause the lights to turn off. Should I just use a 120v relay between the triac and the light?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Here is an attempt at converting sound to dimming by adding 2 diodes,1N4002 etc., & a resistor Rx, around 1k, to adjust lamp to just full brightnes. The +. rectified sound ballances out the + forward bias on coupler, dimming lamp, I think.
