Li-ion batteries need protection circuit to take care of over voltage, under voltage and over current.

I am using this IC to build a protection circuit.
http://datasheet.sii-ic.com/en/battery_protection/S8241_E.pdf

However, I am confused as to how to set the over current limit. I was expecting an external resistor value to control the over current limit, but that doesnt seem to be the case.

How do I set the overcurrent limit for the IC above?

Some please help, this is very urgent.

the datasheet is a mess, it seems different products have different OC thresholds, just get a single cell lion IC from Ti, (which i am familiar with)
must easier to configure.

the sense resistor is used for SoC mainly, a sense resistor that can handle the maximum discharge current the pack is exposed to would be selected, say 5/10mill ohms.

for Ti fuel gauges the OC limit can be set for the different levels, ie level 1 and AFE.

look into Ti fuel gauges, much more common and mature tech than the one you listed.
