Some time ago the default for LaTex blocks was left aligned. Then it changed to center aligned. Is there a way to explicitly specify left aligned blocks?

Serendipity! by chance I came upon this while looking for something else I hope it helps.

My question was not about LaTex generically, but rather our own little microcosm as it is implemented on the forum here. I don't think that article is applicable here because the forum puts a "wrapper" around what we write.

Please forgive me but wouldn't that be proprietary and not being discussed on a public forum?
On second thought don't answer that!
My apologies.

I don't think so. It happened about the same time as the last big change in forum software. It seems strange that there are few, if any complaints. It just looks odd to me.

Do I create the LaTex block first and then edit the type of parentheses?

EDIT: Got it --thanks
Also had to change \frac to \dfrac to prevent the fraction from have smaller text than the rest of the expression.
