Hi all

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with Leds and Esd?

I have a project I'm working on, that will have to be subjected to ESD testing, which has 4 Leds just protruding thru the metal case. Would the ESD jump across the plastic Led casing, and then obviously down the cable to the board?

You could also use silicon rubber to seal the area around the LEDs. I've had Commodore Joysticks zapped through holes in the bottom of the joystick. Ticked me off at the time, so I put electrical tape over the hole, after repairing the Commodore computer,
