I want to control a 350mA constant current LED driver by light. I have done this before but with 12v. (see http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/showthread.php?t=27186)
My question is, would switching the input 120vac. be easier than controlling the output?
You wouldn't want to mess with the 120VAC. And without knowing how your LED(s) are being powered its hard to suggest much. Show us a circuit of your current setup with detailed description.

You could use a 555 PWM circuit where the pot is split between a fixed resistance and a LDR(photo Resistor), but I can't say if it would work with your setup, whatever it is.
