I am wanting to make an LED driver for a 10Watt LED. My supply voltage is 24 Volts.

The details of the LED can be found at http://www.mantech.co.za/datasheets/products/PWD3AH1.pdf

In the past I have used the ZXLD1350 LED driver this does not have the correct current rating, Is it possible to use a MOSFET like the IRLR2905 to be switched by the driver.

I am not sure how this would control the current to the LED.

    Many thanks

You would need a PWM input to the FET to change brightness. You could try using the LX output of the LED driver if you used a smaller LED as a dummy load on the driver chip just to get the LX output if you really want to use that chip.

    Thanks for the reply,

I don't have to use this chip, basically I am looking for a driver suitable for a 10 Watt LED. I am open to any suggestions and advice

    Hello,

You might want to look at the AL8807.
That can drive leds with 1.3 A directly.
