Are ldr's waterproof? I built an outdoor light control circuit. The ldr is exposed to the elements, worked great for two days, when the rain started it seems to pass voltage until it dried out. Is this possible?

 

You would have to check the device spec as posted by the manufacturer, but if the cell is not advertised as waterproof, it probably is not.

 

these were some stray ones i had around, i went back and looked at the ones i bought from digi key, nothing in data sheet, thanks for the help,

 

Stick it in a plastic container - even a water bottle.
