LCD Monitor Backlight Problem

I have a Hanns-G LCD monitor that I am having trouble with the backlight on.

When I switch it on, the backlight comes on for a second or so then goes off.
I popped the case open and replaced all the capacitors that appeared to be linked to the transformers (if indeed that's what they are, bear in mind I'm no electronics expert) for the backlights.
When I powered it back on, bingo! It worked perfectly. However after a few days I was back to the same problem. I took it apart again, just to see if there was anything obvious but I didn't see anything. I put it back together and, bingo, it works again.

After a bit more messing around, it seems that if I leave the AC power connected, after a few days the backlight won't stay on. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it works again.

Any ideas what I should be looking for?
