I want to connect a lamp to a wirelessly controlled plug-in dimmer module. The lamp itself also has a dimmer switch built into it. If the lamp's dimmer is always left at 100% bright, will using the plug-in dimmer upstream work properly & not create problems?

I would not expect a problem.

If you can feel on the existing dimmer a switch inside for 100% then I would almost guarantee there will not be a problem as that switch is bypassing any dimmer circuitry.
