I am in the very early stages of coming up with some concepts for domestic lighting products, that use L.E.D and possibly O.L.E.D light sources. I am pretty much a complete novice when it comes to electronics, programming, code etc. That doesn't mean I'm not willing to learn though. So if your able to provide me with some, easy to understand info/advice I would really appreciate it :)

One of the ideas floating around at the moment is to produce a lighting system that can sense how much light is required, in relation to the natural light in the room, and it would also turn off when there is no one in the room (pets=problem). I was also wondering whether it would be possible for the luminaires in a room to communicate with each other (turn off, turn on, dim) when there are to many lights on in the room.

Anyone have any ideas on how I would start to go about doing stuff like this, doing tests etc, in the simplest easiest way possible?
