I would like to use a keyboard left over from an ASUS netbook that died. P/N:OKNA-192US01. A search reveals some for sale, but no details for using one out of context.

It has a 24p cable that is about 20mm wide, like the Raspberry Pi's camera cable. Is there a name for this type of cable (other than 'ribbon'), and connectors for it?
Ideally I woul like a breakout board and connection details, but a reference for the conductor assignments would do.

Thanks

I believe it is called a FFC connector. The ribbon cable is a FFC cable. As far as connection details, you will probably have to find a schematic for the computer the keyboard came a out of.

What are you wanting to use the keyboard for?

While I was at it I should have mentioned the screen from the netbook as well. The netbook died of a caffeine overdose but the keyboard and display are probably good.

I'm thinking of a small computer for the workshop using the keyboar and display with a C.H.I.P.
