I am using the ADC on the Jennic board to digitise and transmit an analogue output from strain gauges connected in full-bridge configuration and i was wondering whether or not i would need an amplifier before inputting it to the ADC?.... the strain gauge output will be in the realm of milli-volts and will be battery powered.
If so, i was thinking of using just an op-amp to improve the signal strength?

Comments, idea's?

Thanks :D.

Of course you will need an amplifier. The output from the bridge is the difference voltage between two points riding on 1/2 the excitation voltage.

The most common way to get the signal and make it single ended rather then differential is to use an instrumentation amplifier.
