what device are use to connect with the generator and the computer?


our thesis is all about " generator Control System through internet"

but its okay if you know to communicate generator using LAN i can do control it by a net the important is the connection between the generator and the computer...


please please help me??

What is it you are trying to do?

I understand you want to Control a Generator System through the internet. Ok.

What variables about the genset do you want to report to the computer?

You may want RPM, temperature, voltage amp draw... Is there anything else?

So, what to connect to the PC:
You will need sensors for each variable you wish to monitor and transmit through the internet. So start with temperature.

You need to have a thermostat sensor.

Now think about where you want to go from there.

What else do you need to monitor?

 

A lot of generator manufactures have their own product designed for exactly for this reason. The company I work for has a product that communicates with the generator control panel via RS-485 or RS-232 and to the internet via a fixed IP address SIM card.

I am still trying to learn how to use it, but that's the gist of it.

For your specific case, you need to learn the control panel and see how you are going to interface your monitoring device with it.
