It was suggested to me to use an isolation pad between a linear regulator and a heatsink because the tab is connected to the input voltage.

I tried searching but can't seem to find "isolation pads" anywhere...

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Those isolation pads are made of silicone or mica.
