Is it possible to use a zener diode for protecting a rf power mosfet?

Hi, i want to know if i can use a zener diode on the gate of a rf power mosfet (i will be using RD70HVF1 which is making 70W in VHF band)
will the zener create noise/heat in the amplifier?
what kind of zener should i use?
what will happen if the zener dies, can it die in short-circuit?
Thx

thx but i asked for esd protection using a zener diode, i saw that it's used for protecting a mosfet from esd so i'm asking if it's suitable for use with a RF power mosfet in vhf band
thx

Hello,

Why would there be an esd hazzard when the circuit is made?
In the datasheet there is also no zener on the gate.
A zener will create a noise source.

You will also want to consider what the additional capacitance will do to the circuit. RF circuit performance usually degrades with additional circuit capacitance.

Not only the additional Capacitance .......
The Zener Diode is probably not "Fast" enough for RF applications.
