Is it possible to monitor inputs and outputs from a device to enable current flow on a circuit?

I know what dry contact are, thanks. I'm just not confident the document is accurate.

Usually dry contacts are available as outputs, not inputs.
And optocouplers used for inputs. This is to electrically isolate the internal circuits of the device from external voltages.

We need to know this before moving forward, so we can properly interface the new circuit to the device.
Were you able to see the attachments of the chip itself? I tried googling some of the numbers to see if the blueprints were online but found no results. It also looks like the 6 inputs go directly to a resistor of some sorts labeled ZOZ or 202?

If you have a good reason for needing to know I can reach out to the manufacturer (Advantech). How would the input type change what circuit I need for this particular application?

This picture may help; it is an example from an Advantech Manual.

I always have a good reason...we don't want to destroy your device.
:confused:Post #22 answered it.

Just looking at ready-made options before designing from scratch.

Have you considered using one of these for each of the inputs...

or maybe this 4 channnel module:

Use one of these to step the voltage down from 24v to 5v

Did you mean to link something else for the 24v to 5v? These solutions look promising and I am always a fan of something ready-made.
