How to interface sim card with microcontroller & then send sms through it

 

Wire up the sim holder to uC port.
Wire up the GSM hardware to the uC port.
Wire the keypad to uC
Write the code for the uC
Oh wait I forgot. Wire up the LCD to uC port.
Again write the code to display data in LCD.

Insert SIM with proper carrier.
Put some money in the SIM .

Then send the SMS.

Isn't that simple.

Would be simpler to just use a GSM modem. The microcontroller communicates with the GSM modem via a serial link.
