Guys i need to induce a delay in order of fractions of microseconds i.e 0.5 usec in a pulse train which is actually a data line (single). This has to be done in order to match its timings with a the control signal. The control signal cannot be varied so the other option is tailoring the data line.

 

Use the following search pharse in Google.

"500ns delay line" and you will get lot of hits. Some with 10 equal steps of 50ns each.

What is the data rate? You might be able to do it with an RC delay.

 

The reason for this appears dubious at best. IMHO you cannot achieve a precise, stable, repeatable delay. A delay line with fixed taps will still be off by half the difference between the taps and a continuously variable delay will drift with time and temperature.

Why don't you explain what you are trying to do? There might be a far better solution.
