Hi to all, I have built I pulse generator with the basic 555 IC. The Pulsing signal is 15 Volts. Now I want to measure the frequency of the signal. I found cheap and easy to build frequency meter but I'm not sure how to connect out of my pulse generator to frequency meter.
Here is the circuit of frequency meter that I want to build

Thanks,

That will be a challenge if the output of your 555 is not a logic level output. The circuit will only accept a logic level input, which is 0 or +5 volts.

You might want to add a buffer at the input to this counter. Something like a Schmitt trigger to respond to slow signal transitions, and circuitry to control the signal excursion at the input, like a diode clipper.

I also thought to put a transistor... But I'm not quite sure.
So your suggestion is to connect output of the pulse generator to the input of this circuit.

I have made some quick simulation and I think it will work.... Thanks

But I need to measure the frequency and at the same time have the signal available... Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Nenad
