I am designing a basic power supply selector. for my HNC course. What im doing is having three external power supplies being selected by a Touch screen. circuit controlled by a PIC18 Family. My power supplies need 24V to work, so therefore i will be switching the 24V through my controller. what i need to know is can i get a solid state relay (input 5v) to control the 24V to each pwr spply

5v wil be comming from my controller

is this workable

Is the 24 volts AC or DC?

 

and along with AC or DC, how much current @ 24v do the supplies require, or alternatively what is the wattage rating for the supplies?
