hi.... to construct a H- bridge circuit for a 220v,13A dc motor, can we use any other power electronic device except IGBT, as switching device.....!

 

Yes, you can use a BJT or a MOSFET or a GTO if they meet the right specifications.

 

IGBTs are generally used when there is a large voltage drop between the switching voltage and ground.

MOSFETs are faster, but cannot handle these high voltages; hence, they're used in computers.
